SACRED JOURNEY

ON THE PATH
OF THE SIDDHAS

16 — 27 FEBRUARY 2026

Beginning on Maha Shiva Ratri — the Great Night of Shiva

Tamil Nadu, South India

A pilgrimage in the footsteps of immortal masters.

Over twelve days, you'll journey through more than twenty-five temples and Jeeva Samadhis where immortal Siddhas — masters who transcended death itself — maintain living presence across millennia.

Unlike paths that seek dissolution, the Siddhas mastered consciousness while remaining embodied — achieving a state where the soul is fully established in Self, one with the universe. Their Jeeva Samadhis mark where they consciously transcended physical form, yet maintain living presence to guide sincere seekers.

This is not history — it is transmission happening now. In their presence, healing and remembrance of our true Self becomes possible.

The Sanctuary Within

There is a quiet, persistent whisper that calls from within — a sacred longing that knows there must be something more.

It is not the search for something new, but the remembrance of something ancient, eternal, already known.

It is the soul's call to come home.

This journey is an answer to that whisper —

A pilgrimage for the soul when it is ready to be guided, not to a destination, but back to the grace that has always lived within you.

Back to the still sanctuary where silence breathes.

Where the heart remembers its own light.

Why This Journey Is Different

Rooted in Authentic Connection

Volker's relationship with Siddha Pal Pandian has opened a genuine doorway into this living tradition. What he shares arises from direct experience and years of immersion — not from books or brief encounters.

Small Groups, Deep Experience

Limited to a maximum of 8 participants. This intimate group size allows for profound encounters at each sacred site and personal guidance throughout the journey. You are not part of a tour — you are a pilgrim.

Local Knowledge and Presence

After 8 years living in Tiruvannamalai, Volker carries deep familiarity with the temples, rituals, and sacred geography of Tamil Nadu. This journey is guided by someone who calls this land home.

About Your Guide
Volker at Arunachala

Volker's life has been a powerful integration of modern innovation and timeless wisdom. While his early career was in finance, designing A.I. systems for firms including Goldman Sachs, a parallel journey of over 30 years saw him immersed in holistic healing.

This deeper calling brought him to India, and in 2016, it led him to his guru, Siddha Pal Pandian. He settled permanently in the sacred town of Tiruvannamalai in 2018, the same year his life was irrevocably altered. A pivotal medical event led to a 38-minute near-death experience, from which he was returned by what he knows to be the grace of Shirdi Sai Baba.

Affirmed by his teacher's words, "You still have work to do," Volker now guides sacred journeys that create a space for seekers to connect with the divine presence within. His role is to support the journey back to oneself.

"I appreciate Mr. Volker (Germany) who is actively sharing awareness of the Siddha tradition amongst his group."

Siddha Pal Pandian

Living Siddha Pal Pandian has immersed himself in the Siddha tradition and its many dimensions for most of his life.

His lineage is named AGA GURU, which means "inner guru" — www.agaguru.com

For 18 years, he gave healing and medicine to thousands of people across Tamil Nadu, India — always free of any charge. Since then, he has trained many doctors in Siddha medicine.

Siddha Pal Pandian is currently engaged in sharing the spiritual dimension of the Siddha tradition and thus he no longer gives treatments nor consultations.

He has authored four books, among them Siddhas - Masters of Nature and Nature Mimics - An untold perspective of the Siddha System.

He kindly suggested that Volker guide interested seekers to those ancient places associated with the Siddha tradition, and gave him his blessings for this endeavor.

The Ancient Siddha Tradition

Ancient Siddha painting from Tanjavore Museum

Hidden in the forests and mountain caves of ancient Southern India lived a clan of mystic sages, performing intense sadhana. Through these practices, they experienced heightened states of natural consciousness through total inner transformation.

This was the beginning of the tradition of the 18 Siddhas, which was formed in pre-vedic times - long before the currently known paths of Ayurveda, Buddhism, Yoga, and Vedanta. The Siddha tradition is considered to be more than 14,000 years old.

The word Siddha originates from the Tamil root Chittar, meaning consciousness. It is a state where one is fully established in Self, one with the Universe, one with Existence.

Most spiritual paths seek the Supreme to dissolve and disappear in IT. The Siddhas declare that the halfway mark. For them, true communion was attaining the supreme state without abandoning the body-mind complex.

The Path of the Siddhas

Hidden in the forests and mountain caves of ancient Southern India lived a clan of mystic sages, performing intense sadhana. Through these practices, they experienced heightened states of natural consciousness through total inner transformation.

This was the beginning of the tradition of the 18 Siddhas, which was formed in pre-vedic times - long before the currently known paths of Ayurveda, Buddhism, Yoga, Vedanta, Hermetics, Native American Indians, etc.... The Siddha tradition is considered to be more than 14,000 years old and it emerged and evolved naturally.

From the 18 Siddhas, Sage Agasthiyar, Siddha Bogar, and Siddha Thirumoolar are among the most well-known ones.

The term Siddha is often confused with 'Siddhis' - which is incorrect. The word Siddha originates from the Tamil root Chittar, meaning consciousness. It is a state where one is fully established in Self, one with the Universe, one with Existence - allowing humans to live and express their highest potential.

Most spiritual paths seek the Supreme to dissolve and disappear in IT. The Siddhas declare that the halfway mark. For them, true communion was attaining the supreme state without abandoning the body-mind complex.

The Siddha path is not an intellectual one. It's the path of an organic, natural flow.

At some point in our lives, there might arise the existential question: Why am I here? What is the meaning of my life? This occurs mostly in situations of crisis, and thus a spiritual quest begins and we start on our journey to find according answers.

The Siddhas have traveled this journey in its entirety, gaining a vast knowledge of the secrets of Mother Nature, reaching the Supreme state, and showing how we each can attain the ability to live our lives meaningfully in the highest potential expression. All of their vast profound knowledge, ranging from medicine and healing, yoga, tantra, martial arts, and alchemy, to name just a few, is shared for the well-being of humanity. This supports us all to live more authentically in a wholesome way.

Originally this ancient Siddha Tradition was passed on strictly orally from the master to the trusted student/disciple. Later, different Siddhas wrote manuscripts in cryptic verses and songs using metaphoric language. If one is interested to learn about the secrets of existence it will be only under the guidance and teachings of a true master himself, thereby protecting the purity of the teachings.

Written in collaboration with Jutta and Susanne, shared with gratitude and permission.

Forty Minutes in Darkness, A Lifetime in Grace

In 2018, Volker experienced clinical death for forty minutes in Tiruvannamalai after an anaphylactic shock caused by a penicillin allergy.

During those moments, Shirdi Sai Baba appeared in a vision to a friend present, carrying Volker under his arm and assuring, "I will bring him back."

When Volker opened his eyes, Siddha Pal Pandian was standing in the hospital room, radiating light. His words were simple and clear: "You still have work to do."

What doctors had declared impossible unfolded through divine grace.

These sacred journeys are part of that work.

When Time Is Running Out

There and back again

I woke up in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of CMC Vellore Hospital, one of the best hospitals in southern India, with an oxygen mask on my nose to ensure breathing and 3 broken ribs. The body was filled with opium derivative pain medicines. Breathing was difficult, shallow, and painful.

All doctors and professors agreed that a miracle had happened to me. What they had observed was simply not possible: I had no heart or brain damage, even after I had been clinically dead for nearly 40 minutes.

What had happened at the end of 2018?

Returning to India from a visa jump to Singapore, I found myself suddenly with Hepatitis A (liver infection). I can only assume from food or water. I consulted a local hospital in Tiruvannamalai, South India, and the doctor on duty gave me an antibiotic shot. Unfortunately I am allergic to penicillin, of which - to be fair - I wasn't aware at the time. So I went into anaphylactic shock. My heart stopped, I fell down.. and was dead.

Teresa, who had kindly accompanied me to the hospital, was the first one to jump into action and pumped my heart, even before the nurses did. God bless her! As I was told later, one of India's most beloved saints, Shirdi Sai Baba, appeared to her in a vision in which he carried me under his arm and told her that he will bring me back. He surely did!

People ask me what I saw while I was on the other side: I am sorry to disappoint, but I didn't see any angels. No light. And nobody was waiting on the other side with champagne to pick me up and guide me to the party. - It was very peaceful though. No awareness of any pains. And pitch darkness.

As it was explained later, when we die through any kind of shock - e.g. via accident, suicide or whatsoever - we find ourselves blind on the other side. So, though I found it fully okay for such a (subjectively) short time period, it might not have been so pleasant for a longer time. One needs a strong soul to pick them out of such a Limbus.

What I do remember though, while floating in darkness: at one point, I opened my eyes. And what I could see was my beloved teacher Pal Pandian in the room! Was I dreaming?

The room was filled with radiant light, and his eyes looked like beaming torches. He lovingly did hold a hand over my head, and it felt like he pushed my soul back into my body. - Only he and Baba know what really happened, and it remains a mystery to me.

My master was indeed physically there in the hospital to save me. In his humbleness, he fully gave all credits to Baba, confirming that Baba brought me back. "You still have work to do," have been his words, ringing in my ears even now.

No words can describe the beauty of Pal Pandian, who shares his warmth like the sun with everybody.
